Class 4 MOTs in Tilstock
Straightforward MOT testing for cars and light vans, serving Whitchurch and surrounding areas.
What an MOT is (and why it matters)
An MOT is an annual safety and emissions test required for most vehicles over three years old. It helps make sure your vehicle meets minimum roadworthiness standards and can highlight issues to address early.
01
Vehicles we test
We carry out Class 4 MOTs for cars and light vans.
02
Whatโs checked
Key areas include lights, brakes, tyres, steering and suspension, emissions, seatbelts, visibility (wipers, washers, windscreen), and body/structure.
If youโre unsure whether your vehicle is Class 4, contact us and weโll point you in the right direction.
03
How long it takes
Most MOTs take around 45โ60 minutes. If anything needs attention, weโll explain what weโve found and your options.
04
What to bring
Just bring your vehicle. If you have any notes about warning lights or concerns, let us know when you arrive.
Checks
What we inspect
During an MOT, the test covers a wide range of safety and emissions items. Here are some of the main areas:
Lights and electrics
Headlights, indicators, brake lights, hazards, number plate lights, and warning lamps.
Brakes and tyres
Brake performance and condition, tyre tread and condition, and wheels.
Steering and suspension
Steering components, suspension condition, and general stability-related checks.
Emissions and visibility
Exhaust and emissions, mirrors, wipers/washers, windscreen condition, and seatbelts.
Outcomes and what happens next
After the test, youโll receive one of three outcomes:
Pass: your vehicle meets the required standard.
Pass with advisories: itโs passed, but there are items to keep an eye on.
Fail: there are issues that need fixing before the vehicle can pass. Weโll talk you through whatโs been flagged and the next steps.
